Rochester Apple Country Tour
How about a tour through Rochester Apple Country? New York State really is the Big Apple. As the second-largest apple producing state in the country, we grow more than one billion pounds of apples a year. Your Rochester Apple Country experience takes you on scenic country roads along the southern shores of Lake Ontario, tasting the ciders, fruit wines, and locally grown fruits of the number one apple county in New York. In late spring, the low, rolling hills are covered in pink and white drifts of fruit blossoms like cotton candy. In autumn, you can pick your own apples right from the tree. Local cheeses and charcuterie round out a truly memorable experience!
Book your Rochester Apple Country tour today, and visit some of these great cideries:
Mayers Cider Mill, Winery & Brewery – started shortly after the American Civil War, Mayers is one of the oldest continuously operating cider mills in the region. You’ll sample their specialty hard ciders, along with traditional sweet cider and home-made donuts! They also offer local craft beers, and wines made in their Lake Ontario Winery in Hilton, NY.
Schutt’s Apple Mill – Delicious cider, all grown up! Pure, UV filtered cider that’s been fermented and perfected with a perfect balance of apple cider sweetness with the bite you love from a good hard cider. Cherries and raspberries in July, peaches in August, and apples in autumn make for tasty snacking. Browse the shop with thousands of unique gifts that change with the season!
Oak & Apple Cidery – A “farm-to-glass” small-batch Cidery, it’s all done on their farm in Penfield New York, from growing and pressing their own apples to fermenting, aging and bottling their ciders.
Embark Cider Works & Lagoner Farms – Embark creates ciders that feature the true flavors of the apple varieties sourced from their orchards at next-door Lagoner Farms, a fifth-generation family farm market with locally-made food products, pottery, and seasonal gifts.
Old Goat Cidery – offers a variety of 6 tapped hard ciders that change throughout the Cidery’s season, using the finest quality fruits grown on the drumlins surrounding the attached farm stand. Most recently, they broadened their product line to include apple wines, including Peach Apple, Cranberry Apple and Cherry Apple.
