15 Beers On The Erie Canal
Celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Erie Canal on this unique Rochester beer tour! You’ll travel alongside one of the engineering marvels of the 19th century, and visit three of the charming small ports and villages along the way.
Your experience begins in Fairport, known as the “Crown Jewel of the Erie Canal”, with its burgeoning craft beverage industry. Next is the hamlet of Bushnell’s Basin and the canalside Aurora Brewing. Pittsford village’s Schoen Place and Northfield Commons include unique shops, restaurants, and Lock 32 Brewing Company. Of course, we don’t really expect you to drink 15 beers, but it rhymes with the famous song! We do not include tasting fees, so you can choose a flight, a pint, or something different. Your day, your way!

ERIE CANAL BREWERIES
Fairport Brewing Co., Fairport – Many of their brews have received high honors at the World Beer Championships.
Triphammer Bierworks, Fairport – The second brewery to open in Fairport, Triphammer offers a variety of beers on tap as well as hard seltzer and other beverages, and traditional pub games.
Preservation Beer Company, Fairport – From the team behind Lock 32 Brewing and Seven Story Brewing comes a brand new beer experience dedicated to the preservation of things that matter to us and our community, with a selection ranging from IPAs to lagers, stouts and sours.
Aurora Brewing Company, Bushnell’s Basin – Located in a beautiful restored farmhouse on the shores of the Erie Canal, at the heart of the mile-long Great Embankment. Relax in one of their Adirondack chairs and sip a beverage right next to the iconic waterway.
Lock 32 Brewing, Pittsford – Right on the Erie Canal path, Lock 32 serves their own brews as well as guest cider, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Schoen Place and Northfield Common, Pittsford – Located next to the towpath of the Erie Canal, the Common captures the aura of one of the oldest communities in Monroe County: the well-established Pittsford Village. The shops and restaurants have their own individual characteristics and history. A great place to pick up a memento or gift!
Most venues offer a selection of local wines, hard ciders, and non-alcoholic drinks in addition to their beers. To accommodate our guests’ preferences, tasting fees are not included in our prices. Join us for a fun and memorable Rochester beer tour!
