Tour the Roc: Rochester City Tours

$50 per person

Get to know Rochester on one of our Rochester City Tours! City sights tour, urban brewery tour, and parks & gardens tour all show you unique features of our beautiful city on the Genesee.

Rochester is a combination of big-city culture and small-city charm.  Known as “The Flower City” and “The World’s Image Center”, it’s the third-largest city in the state of New York. Lake Ontario lies to the north, the Genesee River flows through the city, and the historic Erie Canal runs along its borders.  We offer several different types of Rochester New York tours, so you can explore what interests you.

Rich in history, Rochester is also the birthplace of industry giants including Kodak, Xerox, and Bausch & Lomb. Nowadays, it’s also one of New York’s top towns for craft beers.

Book a Rochester City tour, a Rochester Beer Tour, or the Rochester Parks & Gardens tour, and get to know our city!

Rochester City Tours

Rochester is a place to learn and live history every day.  On this tour we pass landmarks like Susan B. Anthony’s houses, George Eastman’s mansion, and the building where Frederick Douglass published his North Star newspaper.  Your driver will point out buildings known for their history and architecture and tell you stories about the Erie Canal. The tour also passes down East Avenue, where you can view the beautiful mansions that line the street. Visit historic Brown’s Race, which provided power to the city’s mills, and walk across the Pont De Rennes bridge with its unobstructed views of the 96-foot High Falls. This tour involves some easy walking.

Rochester Beer Tours

Rochester craft beers

Rochester has been named one of the top cities for beer in the country! Join us on this city-centric brewery tour, including the oldest brewery in New York State, Rochester’s very first craft brewery, and the 2022 New York State Craft Brewery of the Year.  You’ll also get a taste of the city’s rich history and beautiful architecture and view the beautiful High Falls of the Genesee River.  The price of this tour does not include tasting fees. This way, you can purchase a flight, a pint, or wine and soft drinks as you wish.

Parks & Gardens of Rochester Tour

Highland Park Rochester
Available May through October.  Rain or shine.
Rochester, Louisville, Boston, and Buffalo are the only four cities with park systems designed solely by Frederick Law Olmsted, Sr., the creator of New York City’s Central Park. Our Highland Park, Genesee Valley Park, Maplewood Park, and Seneca Park are all part of his legacy. Depending on the season, visit the largest collection of lilacs in North America or a nationally accredited rose garden.  Several parks offer stunning views of the Genesee River and its waterfalls. This tour involves some easy walking.

Carol’s private tour was amazing! Carol moved at our pace, never rushed us, and took us to areas and places that we would have never seen with out her expert guidance. I would absolutely recommend this tour if you have the time.

We had a great deal of fun on our ROC tour. We learned things about the history of Rochester that we hadn’t heard before. Our host was pleasant and helped us have a wonderful morning touring.
