Our Rochester Farms, Fruit, and Family Fun tour offers a great experience for kids and grownups alike, visiting an animal rescue, playing at a farm market, and tasting locally produced beverages!

Due to their location along the shores of Lake Ontario, our farms, vineyards and orchards produce some of the best fruit in New York State. This makes it the perfect area for enjoying farm markets and outdoor activities. Depending on the season, several venues let you pick your own produce.

Our adult guests (21+) can enjoy a hard cider or wine tasting at family-friendly. farm-to-glass wineries and cideries. Younger guests can enjoy locally made soft drinks and sweet cider. (If you’re looking for a Winery Tour along Lake Ontario, check out our Lake Ontario Wine Trail page).

Depending on your chosen itinerary, we drive along the shores of Lake Ontario and beautiful Sodus Bay to visit one (or more) of the following:

Cracker Box Palace Farm Animal Haven at historic Alasa Farms, a unique place originally built and occupied by the Sodus Bay Shakers, where rescued farm animals of every kind now come to recover and receive loving care. Kids can feed and pet the horses, donkeys, goats, cows, and other farm residents. In autumn, they offer apples and cider from their orchards. If you like, you can even pick your own apples! (Tuesday through Saturday)

Chimney Bluffs State Park, where waves and weather have sculpted massive clay spires into some of the most dramatic landscape on the Lake Ontario shore. It’s a great place for kids to let off some steam, and adults to marvel at the strange sandstone formations.

Sodus Point, with a beautiful sand beach on Lake Ontario, spectacular views over Sodus Bay, and a 150-year-old lighthouse that houses a maritime museum.

Lagoner Farms, a family farm and fruit stand since 1909, and Embark Craft Cider Works, hand crafting sweet and hard cider using apples grown on-site at Lagoner Farms.  The farm market and café have wonderful baked goods & locally made products. (Friday and Saturday only)

Long Acre Farms,  providing our community with family farm fun since 1993! With a farm market, ice cream shop, and outdoor play area it’s a treat for kids young and old. Older “kids” can enjoy a tasting at JD Wine Cellars, located on the premises. (Daily. Must be 21+ for wine tasting). The farm courtyard activities are free of charge and include a pirate ship, train, monster truck, red tractors, kids playhouse, giant tires and more for kids to climb, slide, explore, and play imagination.
